New Forest Pony Photography Workshop with William Jones-Warner
Join William Jones-Warner for a half-day workshop focused on photographing the iconic New Forest pony in its natural habitat. This immersive session is ideal for photographers looking to refine composition, work confidently with natural light, and better understand their camera settings, all while capturing the character and behaviour of these free-roaming ponies.
We will begin with a brief introduction near Fritham before heading out onto the open forest, on foot and by car as needed, to locate and photograph herds of ponies in the surrounding heath and woodland. The moorland and forest landscapes around Fritham provide a beautiful and varied backdrop, offering excellent opportunities for both detail and environmental photography.
The full three-hour workshop is spent out in the field photographing the ponies, with William providing guidance, technical advice, and constructive feedback throughout. The pace is relaxed and responsive to conditions, allowing time to observe behaviour, consider composition, and make the most of changing light.
A wide to telephoto focal range works well for this workshop, but photographers using any focal length are very welcome.
