London Street Photography Workshop with William Jones-Warner
Join William Jones-Warner for an immersive street photography workshop in the heart of London on 3rd March.
This hands-on session is designed to help you refine your composition, build confidence photographing in public, and learn to see light and gesture in a more intentional way. Whether you are just starting out or looking to elevate your work, this workshop will provide practical guidance and real-world experience in one of the most visually dynamic cities in the world.
Learn some of the skills William has utilised to be shortlisted three times in the British Photography Awards, twice for his street photography, and was a finalist in Travel Photographer of the Year, using the same observational techniques that underpin his street work. He has also received an Editor’s Pick in the Independent Photo Awards. The methods he shares during this workshop are the same approaches that have shaped his award-recognised images.
The Experience
We will begin at Bank, London, surrounded by dramatic architecture, fast-moving commuters and constantly shifting light. From there, we will walk through the surrounding streets, following opportunities as they present themselves.
This is a walking workshop, and we are likely to cover a considerable distance over the three hours. Please wear comfortable footwear and come prepared to move. Street photography requires patience, awareness and adaptability.
Throughout the session, William will guide you through:
Seeing and anticipating moments before they happen
Working with natural light in an urban environment
Strong composition in busy scenes
Camera settings for dynamic street conditions
Building confidence when photographing strangers
Developing a consistent visual style
You will receive live feedback as you shoot, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and refine your approach.

Reviews
“Will is an excellent and patient teacher. Talking through the technical basics of using a camera to the nuance of light and portraiture, he balances technical knowledge with an obvious love of the pursuit of taking beautiful photos. He does not profess to be the finished article, but as another person who finds joy in working out the best composition or new photos to take, even in well-known places. He is incredibly encouraging and keen to share his love of photography with others. He has taught me everything I know about photography, and his love for it is inspiring to continue to improve and do more!” Silas
“I’ve been lucky enough to go out photographing with Will a few times around the streets of London. He helped me especially when he advised me on a manual lens adapted for my DSLR, helping me to achieve the photos I was hoping for, and teaching me about properly isolating subject using light. Will is an amazing photography teacher: patient, enthusiastic and encouraging with an amazing eye for subject and light - and good fun!” Ella
